The Ladies in Binghamton

I drove up to Binghamton, NY yesterday morning to hang with Joyous and our friend from grad school, Carol, who is just starting her doctoral work at SUNY. Can I tell you how jealous I am that she's actually doing this and doing it well? But on the other hand, it's a hell of a lot of work, a hell of a lot of money, and a hell of a lot of sacrifice and I know how well I do when it comes to stuff like that. I tend to whine.

So instead of thinking about what could have been, Carol showed us around the town and we had us a hell of a good time. Here's Joy and I in the hotel room right before bed, trying to keep our eyes open, trying to talk for as long as humanly possible, trying to drown out the sound of our neighbors having very athletic sex, and trying to plan the next time we'll get together. More pictures to come when Joyous sends me hers. I brought my camera, but only took this one. Slacker, right? I know, totally.

Now I'm trying to recover from the trip back, listening to the Bare Naked Ladies sing about Yoko Ono and a million dollars, trying to get up the energy to finish the laundry and thanking God that I have tomorrow off.

God bless Labor Day.
