Ciao, 007

On this the last day of 2007 I thought I'd take a minute to reflect. Unfortunately, Trixie is sprawled across my belly, impervious to the fact that my arms need to move in order to get my fingers to the keyboard.

So instead I'll quickly note that 2007 is/has been bookended by a couple a bad family incidents. Grandpa Kezar died at the end of January 07, and now Grandma Kezar has fallen and broken a hip. At 79 years of age, this isn't the end of the world, but it's pretty darn bad.

2007 was also the year that we lost little Pumpkin and Uncle Charlie. 2007 saw Larry Craig publicly shame the Minnesota Airport toilets. And, not to be forgotten, in 2007 Imus was kicked off the air, and then came back.

On the other hand, I became an auntie this year and we adopted Ari. The Beast and I went to two concerts this year. We saw Jimmy Buffet with friends and Bowling For Soup with each other, and had a ridiculously awesome time at both. I learned how to golf. Colleen got married.

So it was a pretty good year, after all. Here's to an even better 008.

Here, here. My personal philosophy is that even years are better than odd years. Which is why I'm planning to go gambling tomorrow:)
