Hold up, Joe

For those of you who might have witnessed Joe Biden taking the high road by saying, “Children are off limits,” referring to Bristol Palin, VP nom Sarah Palin’s 17-year old pregnant daughter, allow me to draw your attention to this thoughtful response from one of my favorite people.

If you don't have time to read the whole thing (not that it's long), I'll quote the most important part here:

Abortion and teen pregnancy, sexual education and reproductive rights are inflammatory, divisive and profoundly important policy issues in this country. What politicians like Joe Biden and Sarah Palin do in the White House and in Congress about those issues affect the real lives of millions of women and families. If Sarah Palin gets her wish, women like Bristol won’t have a choice whether or not to carry their pregnancy to term — to do otherwise will be criminalized.

Mr. Biden, if she’s pregnant, she isn’t a child.

Hell to the yeah, PeaceBang.

SO true! It's a bit scary to think we could take a giant step backwards!

Adult children have been protected in the past, also. It's been the policy of the last few elections, maybe more, that family members who stay out of the fray, other than to simply offer support, are off limits.
I've never seen an election on a national level that includes the spouse or children unless and until said family member takes shots at the other side.
