It's been ten years since I last saw my friend Isabelle. We were nannies together once upon a time in the suburbs of New Jersey and after years of emails and Christmas cards she flew back from Switzerland and into town this weekend!
Here she is at the Brooklyn Bridge (Manhattan side):
And here she is again with more of the bridge this time. I know you can't really see her but it was the first time I'd ever seen the bridge with my own eyes so I've decided to keep the pic and post it:
From the Bridge we walked south to Battery Park and had an early dinner at the restaurant there called Battery Gardens.
We reminisced about skiing in Vermont with this model and her boyfriend named "Du" (so not kidding), lounging poolside in Rye, NY, driving all over Jersey looking for kid-friendly museums, and freezing our asses off in Times Square on New Year's Eve. NEVER doing that again.
It was a good day, if a little chilly at the outset.
I absolutely can't wait ten more years before I jump on a plane and get myself to the land of chocolate, cheese and the Papal guard.
Best part of the day? Getting to practice my long-dead French. Mais, oui!
