Friday Cat Blogging

You are cordially invited to make the acquaintance of the newest member of the family.

Meet Fiona:

Well, Fiona's back end, anyway.

Fiona was found in my parking lot in Elizabeth. She's six months old and very friendly. She's so friendly and so affectionate in fact that I was worried if we left her there something bad might happen to her.

It took no effort at all to coax her into the car and drive her to the nearest Vet. She checked out negative for feline leukemia and feline aids so we gave her a name and will bring her home to meet Trixie and Ari tomorrow.

I'll keep you in the loop as to the introduction, but sadly (or maybe luckily) I won't be here for it. I'm hopping a plane tomorrow and heading for sunny MN for a week. Hopefully by the time I get back they won't all have bonded to the point where they don't remember me.

Fingers crossed!

What kind-hearted people you guys are! I hope Trixie and Ari feel the same. I can't wait to see the pictures of the interaction.

Ah yes, kind hearted wonderful people we are indeed, and after dropping my lovely wife off at the airport I picked Fiona up. Paid the $862 vet bill(!) (man, kindness hurts) and now I get to enjoy the pleasure of a terrified Trixie, an angry hissing snarling Ari and a pretty dominant little Fiona, who upon meeting the current kitty residents Chased their butts up the stairs into hiding. And that was just the beginning! Where's my better half .... miles, and miles away. Hmmm, very interesting. I will try to put up some more pics and an update of our first full day together on my blog, use Kate's links to check it out if you're interested.

(the preceding, while entirely true, was not meant to imply any real annoyance; having been married for a while now I've learned that men humor/sarcasm isn't always perceived as such by the fairer sex!)

Your sarcasm is funny and I do not envy your dealing with the new kitty on your own. I can't believe the price! Is that a Jersey thing? I guess street smart Fiona will continue to fight for her space. You are kind I think - just to blog about it for Kate.

Thanks, Joan. The price was largely our choice, because we did have her de-clawed (both the other cats were, and we always felt it wouldn't be fair for one animal to have that weapon) We also had her fixed, and ask Kate about the one time we dealt with a cat in heat (she went into it at a younger age than we had anticipated, kate did a hilarious blog about it!

Dude, you know you could buy a cat at the shelter for like 10 bucks.
