An Embarrassment of Riches
Recently I was joking around with some co-workers about the difference between Christmas and Thanksgiving. One of us is not from this country and does not practice one of the three major religions in this country, and she said with an eye squint, as if wanting to get it right, "You don't give gifts on Thanksgiving, right?"
And I replied back, "Nope all we give is thanks, which is totally lame." Ba-dum-bum.
It got a great laugh, let me tell you.
But even though we don't give gifts on Thanksgiving, we definitely still give thanks on Christmas. Or at least I do.
This week we had food and wine and good conversation and great T.V. Gifts were given and received and loved and it was good. It was an embarrassment of riches.
