Holiday Movies

One of the things I'm loving most about being off this week is watching all the Christmas movies I loved growing up.  On the list:

 White Christmas Poster
Is there anything better than Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye teaming up with Vera Ellen and the wonderful Rosemary Clooney?  Plus a score by Irving Berlin himself?  Not for my money.

Scrooged Poster

This version is my absolute favorite of the old Christmas story.  Amazing that this is Bill Murray, right?  So different from the taciturn grouch of recent years...admit it, at the end when everyone sings "Put A Little Love In Your Heart" you sing along, right?  I totally do.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Poster
A modern classic.  When Jack wanders into Christmas Town and with wide pumpkin eyes sings, "What's this?  What's this?" I think we can all relate.

What's not on the list?  How about "It's A Terrible Wonderful Life"  Is there a more depressing movie out there?  Right up until the very end I pretty much want to hang myself.  No, thank you, Frank Capra.
